Vintage Palau Wood Carved Storyboard Signed Ngiraibuuch K Palau 1-21-1996 with Mother Of Pearl Inlaid on the front and each side. I can not say for certain if the K on the back represents the city of Koror or if it is part of the artist name. This unique Palau wood carved storyboard is a one-of-a-kind piece that showcases the artistry and culture of the Pacific Islands.
The medium-sized artwork, measuring approximately 7 7/8" in length and 8" in height, features a traditional Palauan wood carving depicting a captivating story. The vintage piece, produced in 1996, is signed by the renowned artist Ngiraibuuch or Ngiraibuuch K and boasts exquisite mother of pearl inlay. The unframed artwork is perfect for art collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the intricate details of hand wood carving. The Storyboard appears to have three couples with each couple actively engaged " Paying close attention to each other ".I see Birds, Clouds, Trees (Breadfruit and/or Coconut) a Turtle And the Hut. There are Three Mother Of Pearl Inlaid on the right side and Two on the left of the Storyboard.
The Storyboard shows signs of prior ownership, shelve and storage wear with normal surface blemishes associated with vintage age. There is a small crack on the bottom left side. Please see photos 7 and 8 for close-ups. It does not take away from the beauty of this one of a kind timeless piece. I gently wiped the piece off.
